Everyone knows that software development entails coding and testing software, but not everyone is keenly aware of the capabilities and services required to support those activities. This is the space known as Development Operations (DevOps), and the BMC Release Lifecycle Management tool provides strong capabilities and support for this space.

This e-book provides the introductory course for DevOps and BMC Release Lifecycle Management (RLM). It is designed to provide an overview of the roles, capabilities, principles, and processes of DevOps, followed by coverage of the process of modeling application release processes and deploying software releases in RLM. Students will come away from the course with a strong foundation in how to use RLM, whether their goal is to provide basic documentation of a release process, to fully automate and track execution of the process, or to automate the deployment of software artifacts.
